Delhi, [India], August 19, 2026: Nohum is a psychological thriller that explores belief, doubt, identity and the human search for meaning. Written, directed and produced by Shivam Hora, the film brings together elements of psychological and existential horror, science fiction and mystery through a story that gradually moves from an ordinary gathering into something far more unsettling.
The film follows three outspoken atheists – Daksh, Abhay and Reeti – who accept an invitation to a gathering called Atheist Anonymous at a remote farmhouse. What begins as an evening of conversation and shared disbelief takes an unexpected turn as the hosts present ideas that challenge the guests’ assumptions. As the evening unfolds, the three are drawn into increasingly unsettling experiences that force them to question what they believe and what they think they understand.
The making of Nohum has followed a similarly challenging journey. Shivam began building a screenwriting community through his Instagram platform @itsaboutastory, creating a space centred on storytelling and screenwriting before moving towards the development of a feature film. What began as a creative community eventually became the starting point for a larger filmmaking journey, gradually growing into the making of Nohum.
Developing the film required Shivam to work across writing, direction and production while navigating the practical demands of a feature-length project. The film was shot across Delhi NCR and Leh, with a production process that also had its share of setbacks. On the seventh day of shooting, after six consecutive 12-hour night shifts involving nearly 100 people on set, Shivam fell seriously ill with fever and intense body pain. Production had to be paused for almost a week, and what was initially planned as a single schedule was eventually divided into two before filming resumed.
The film’s production also incorporates professional cinema equipment and post-production capabilities, including ARRI and Sony VENICE 2 cameras, with post-production involving Prime Focus and Jam8 studios. These elements support the film’s atmospheric visual language, production scale and focus on psychological tension.
During the making of Nohum, Shivam Hora also established Hora Sons Productions with his brother Ramneek Hora, who serves as the film’s Executive Producer. The banner has been part of the film’s development while leaving room for further collaborations and partnerships around the project.
For Nohum, the journey from @itsaboutastory to making a feature film is as much a part of the project as its production itself. Rather than following a conventional route into filmmaking, Shivam developed the project through a community built around writing and storytelling, gradually expanding that effort into a full-length film.
With its focus on religion, belief, doubt and psychological conflict, Nohum is aimed at viewers who enjoy films that leave room for interpretation and continue to raise questions after the story ends. Its approach places the film within a niche but growing space for Indian cinema that explores darker, more psychologically driven narratives.
